Today we are very happy to introduce our newest member; David Furlong!
David is a versatile stage, screen and street performer. He has acted extensively over a 20 years career in France and London, in plays, films, street theatre and devised pieces.
David is Mauritian-born, a bilingual French-English actor, trained in Paris National Theatre of Chaillot, he also established Exchange Theatre in London in 2006 as artistic director, for which he directed many plays.
As an actor, In London, he took part in many productions including ‘LOVE’S LABOURS LOST’, ‘THE ROVER’, ‘RED OLEANDER’. For Exchange Theatre, he was “Orestes” in JP Sartre’s ‘THE FLIES’, “Philippe” in ‘A FAMILY AFFAIR’, “Sganarelle” in ‘DOM JUAN’, “Alceste” in ‘MISANTHROPE’, and “Macbeth” in ‘MACBETH’. In France, he worked with many major directors in ‘ROMEO & JULIET’, ‘MONSERRAT’, ‘A FLEA IN HIS EAR’.
He’s worked as Young Vic Jerwood director in 2021, he directed ‘TEMPESTS’ about invisibilized mixed identities as part of FIVE PLAYS 2021. He’s also an experienced deviser exploring in particular the decolonization of representations.
He’s also “race & allyship” trainer for Maya productions with Tonic theatre and co-founder of Migrants in Theatre.
